New Organ Trio

The latest project (2024) is the ‘Purple Dayz Organ Trio’. The group (with Scott Flanigan organ and Shane O’Donovan drums), explores pop and rock songs of the sixties and seventies. The album is due for release in Autumn 2024. Check “Events” for details of up coming performances.

Hugh Buckley Group with Cello Ireland

This is a collaboration with Cello Ireland with string arrangements by the wonderful Fiachra Trench. I am really excited to be performing with this ensemble. The ensemble has performed at The Spike Festival, The Galway Jazz Festival, the Sugar Club (Dublin) and the Whale Theatre, Greystones. We look forward to announcing further news and dates.

Dublin City Jazz Orchestra

Big band featuring many of Ireland’s top musicians, playing original material and standard jazz repertoire. The band has featured many International guest artists including Rick Margitza, Kenny Werner, Marshall Gilkes, John Riley, Norma Winstone and Ernie Watts.

During Covid lockdown I had time to work on some solo guitar playing and I am really excited about developing this area of my musical journey. I have recorded my first solo guitar album ‘Only Hugh” which is now on all digital platforms.
